A severe water shortage in British Columbia is threatening hydro power
production
Globe and Mail, May 16, 2001... article
Actually, a water
shortage is revealing management problems in BC Hydro. In January, BC Hydro assured British Columbians that they were NOT overselling
domestic hydro capacity for quick bucks from California. Now, it
appears that greed
got the upper hand - BC is short of water, California customers have defaulted on
up to $300 million worth of electricity debt to Hydro, and Hydro
is saying they've created a crisis.
