Heated words on hydro

In a front-page story in the Jan. 21 Sacramento Bee, the reporter noted that BC Hydro is now charging Pacific Gas and Electric 75 cents per megawatt while charging customers in B.C. something like three cents. We don't question the legality of Hydro's actions, just the morality.

While our politicians have let us down in a misguided and poorly thought-out attempt to reduce power rates through deregulation, Californians will remember those who have taken advantage of us. There will soon come a day when we will be less inclined to be supportive of Canadians' desires to improve access to US. markets for goods such as softwood lumber produced in B.C.
