September 27, 2000

Dear Mr. Mantha,

I had written you August 27th, 2000 requesting an Independent Panel Review, Cumulative Effects Study and a 30 day extension for submissions regarding the Scoping study. As you are aware the Hydro meetings on the marine impacts were just before, just after, or in the case of the Cowichan Valley Meeting about 3 weeks after the cutoff.

The Cowichan Valley Regional District passed the following motion regarding this matter,

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of the Cowichan Valley Regional District held in the Committee Room, 137 Evans Street, Duncan, BC, on Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at 7:30 pm.

PRESENT: Chair T. Walker
Directors J. Allan, R.Beaudin, A. Bomford, M. Coleman, T. Daly, L.Duncan, R. Hughes, R. Hutchins, M. Marcotte, J. Peake G. Ridgway, A. Robertson, R. Spencer
and Alternate Director G. Seymour

ALSO PRESENT: Frank Raimondo, Administrator
and Jennifer Forrest, Secretary

ABSENT: Director R. Hollett

(SHAW Cable present)

******* 13. That the CVRD urge the National Energy Board to extend the deadline for submissions regarding the scoping process to not less than 30 days following the Cobble Hill Public Meeting examining into marine impacts surrounding the proposed Georgia Strait Crossing gas pipeline project.

When can we expect a response to the many requests for this flaw to be corrected?

Regards

Richard Hughes
