No coal in these stockings, please Santa
KITSILANO/CKNW(AM980) - About 150 people gathered at Kits Beach Sunday to say "no" to coal and urge the BC Government to consider cleaner energy option. With guitars, facepaint and games for the kids, a group of Point Grey residents says it's time for Premier Campbell to halt plans for coal-fired power plants. Organizers say the rally shows how ordinary people are extremely worried about climate change. Resident Sharon Lazare says the Premier should take notice, "Building coal-fired power plants is a very bad idea and going in the wrong direction." She says the Province should focus on wind or hydro instead. Posted by Arthur Caldicott on 11 Dec 2006 |
